Plans and billing

What are the plans?
PlanPriceWhat's in it
The current plans and prices are on the billing page.

Prices in US dollars.

What is the founding offer?

Beta users and the first sign-ups at launch can have Pro at a founding price, locked for a year. The billing page shows it when your account qualifies.

What counts as a site?

A site is used the first time you look up a new address, drop a pin on a new lot, or make a deliverable for one. Anything within about 150 m of a site you've already used is the same site, so moving the pin around a lot is free. Going back to a site you've used is always free. Your count of new sites starts again on the 1st of each month (UTC).

What does a Site Pass cover?

One site's full package, for good: CD100, DXF, budget estimate PDF, permit packet and utility letter. Working on that site never uses one of your monthly sites. Buy one from your site list on the billing page, or when a locked deliverable asks.

How do Team seats work?

Team includes 3 seats; extra seats are charged per month each. Seats go to the plan's owner first, then to members in the order they joined the team. The team shares one count of sites a month. Add or remove seats on the Team page.

How do I upgrade, downgrade or cancel?

Choose a plan on the billing page. Once you're on a paid plan, Manage billing opens Stripe's portal, where you change plan, change card or cancel. If you cancel, you keep the plan to the end of the period you've paid for, then move to Free.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If you ask within 7 days of your first payment and you've used fewer than 3 sites, we refund it in full. After that, we'll refund your most recent monthly payment if you ask. On a yearly plan, we refund the full months you haven't used yet. A Site Pass is refunded in full within 7 days if you haven't downloaded its package. Email hello@crbcut.com; a refund shows on your card in 5–10 days. A refund doesn't cancel the plan, so cancel in Manage billing too if you're leaving.

Where are my receipts and invoices?

In Stripe's portal: Manage billing on the billing page.

Is tax included?

No. Taxes are added at checkout where they apply.

Using CRBCUT

What are the deliverables?
  • CD50: a concept drawing set.
  • CD100: the full drawing set, for an engineer of record to review.
  • DXF: the drawings as CAD files.
  • Estimate PDF: the budget estimate.
  • Owner proposal: a short PDF for the property owner.
  • Site pro forma: build cost, operating costs, revenue and payback for the site in three usage cases (US only).
  • Permit packet: the forms and checklist for the permit office.
  • Utility letter: the load letter and application details for the utility.
Is the estimate a quote?

No. Estimates are budgetary, for planning. Get quotes from contractors and the utility before you commit.

Can I build from the drawings?

Not as they come out. Drawings are preliminary until a licensed engineer of record reviews and seals them.

Where do permit packets and utility letters work?

In the cities, counties and utilities listed on the Coverage page. Some are marked Beta there.

How is the payback worked out?

It's an illustration, not a forecast of returns and not financial advice: revenue and payback worked out from the assumptions shown with it (usage, prices, costs), which you can change for each project. It shows three cases, low, typical and high usage, and usage moves it most.

Electricity cost depends on your utility rate, especially the demand charge for fast chargers. If you haven't entered a rate, CRBCUT uses the cheapest rate on file for your utility at the site's size, often an EV charging rate. Where we don't have your utility's rates, it assumes an EV charging rate like most utilities offer: your state's average commercial price and no demand charge, with a demand charge added in the low case. It always says which rate it used. Enter your rate or upload a bill for a real number, and check with the utility that the site qualifies for the rate.

Where demand charges are a big part of the bill, the payback offers See it with a battery: it sizes a battery that holds the grid draw down and shows the payback with and without it. It counts the 30% federal storage tax credit if the project qualifies; state storage incentives aren't counted.

A payback longer than 10 years shows as "over 10 years"; if a case never covers its costs, it says "doesn't pay back". Payback is US only for now.

Does CRBCUT work outside the US?

Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales), Ontario, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and eight Indian metros are in Beta: site search and the concept layout only. Drawing sets, estimates and utility paperwork there wait for a local engineer's sign-off.
